Our Projects
Israel Energy Forum is engaged in many activities that are related to energy policy in Israel. In the recent years we were active in four main projects:
Local Energy Efficiency Hub
The project, in cooperation with the Heschel Center for Sustainability and the Local Government Union, provides tools and support for Local Authorities in implementing Energy Efficiency in their area. Within the project framework, traning was carried out , as well as advice and guidance to the Local Authorities in Energy Efficiency.
Zero Carbon Israel
The project carried out a techno-economic examination of the possibility to productce Israel's whole demand for electricity from renewable sources. The surprizing findings suggest that Israel can reach up to 80% of total renewable power, without additional cost for the Energy sector.
Vereification Center
As part of efforts to promote Energy Efficiency in Israel, the Forum is setting up technology center to verify the performance of efficiency projects. The center will serve as an independent body between the customer and the provider, that will provide reliable information about the performance of systems.
Securing Israel's Natural Gas Future
By recognizing the need for long-term planning of Energy sources in Israel, the Forum led the fight against exporting large parts of the Natural Gas discovered off the coast of Israel. The Forum is also involved in other policy issues related to Natural Gas.
